Congratulations! Mid-Carolina Middle School competed in the first ever virtual SC Jr. Beta Club Convention. Entries were submitted on January 19. All winners have received an invitation to compete at nationals in June in Orlando. MCMS received 17 awards including the presidential office! State 2021 winners are:

Congratulations to Ms. Courtney Hentz on being named MCMS Teacher of the Month. Ms. Hentz teaches 6th grade Social Studies, is the MCMS cheer coach, and a Jr. Beta Club sponsor. She was voted on by her peers for her willingness to help her peers and taking the extra step for each of her students. We are Rebel Proud of Ms. Hentz!
Congratulations to Mrs. Tammy Doke for being named MCMS Support Staff of the Month. Mrs. Doke is a member of the Rebel Café and assists in ensuring our students and staff have a hot meal every day. She was voted on by her peers for always having a helpful, friendly attitude and helping ensure students move through the lunch line safely. We are Rebel Proud of Mrs. Doke!

Teacher of the Month: Congratulations to Mrs. Stacey Templin. Mrs. Templin is the MCMS Media Specialist. She was voted on by her peers for showing the Mindset, We Are Connected. Mrs. Templin is always there to support students with technology, inspire them to read, and encourage them to work hard. We are Rebel Proud!
Support Staff of Month: Congratulations to Mrs. Jennifer Moore. Mrs. Jennifer Moore is the MCMS Career Facilitator. She was voted on by her peers for showing the Mindset, We Are Connected. Mrs. Moore is always expanding student knowledge of careers and willing to support her peers in and out of the classroom. We Are Rebel Proud!

Girls Soccer Tryout Update - 3:45 -5:30 at the practice field. Players will need to make sure to bring shin guards with soccer socks, cleats, and a water bottle.

The Miss MCMS Pageant will be done virtually. Recording for the pageant will be done on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Airing of the pageant is TBA. More details on the pageant and applications can be found on the school website or on Ms. Beam’s website under the Miss MCMS Pageant tab. Applications are due by March 1, 2021 via email to jbeam@newberry.k12.sc.us. Please email Ms. Beam with any questions.
